Melissa Parsons is a Certified Svaroopa® Yoga Teacher and an Embodyment® therapist. Due to an illness at age 15, she began exploring various forms of yoga and meditation on her journey to health. She also studied Reiki and, more extensively, Tai Chi and Chi Gong. Svaroopa® yoga became her path of choice in 2000, after experiencing profound inner openings during a workshop with Swami Nirmalananda (then known as Rama Berch).
Melissa, who also has a Masters Degree in education, worked as a middle school teacher and a yoga teacher in the Boston area as she trained with Swami Nirmalananda. She has completed advanced teacher training in pre-natal, gentle, and deeper yoga, and Svaroopa® yoga therapy. Melissa now lives in Ancram, NY, with her husband Nicolas, and their two amazing sons.
She has been teaching Svaroopa® Yoga for 15 years, the last eleven of those in the Hudson Valley. Her classes combine her enthusiasm for teaching with an abiding love of yoga.
